Grid column number of characters

I have a data grid and one column is wider than the grid, I need to show only the first 50 characters.
The field type is a long string.

How can I show only the first 50 characters ?

This thread should answer your question. Scroll down to the section that @Chem provided for a javascript resolution. It is not perfect but it works satisfactory. It is triggered by any click on the page.

Limit text length in table

Hi smart minds, My table component is showing information with random info, some blanks are with URL, some randomly with long text… (more than 1000 characters). Is there anyway to limit the text length in the column? Say showing as “…” or even click to show detail on pop-up box, if the text length exceeds the limit. Thanks…
