Tuesdays with Tadabase - August 11th, 2026

:mirror_ball: :headphone: Today marks the birth of hip hop, and our team is keeping the rhythm going with another fresh lineup of updates. Let’s press play :play_button:.

:toolbox: Our engineers have shared:

:paperclip: Attachment FIeld Improvements:

We’ve added several enhancements to Attachment Fields to give you more control over how uploaded files are organized.

:shuffle_tracks_button: Dynamic Folder Structure
You can now define dynamic folder paths using field values, allowing uploaded files to be automatically organized into a structured folder hierarchy instead of a single flat folder.

This makes it much easier to keep files organized in your own Amazon S3 bucket or the Tadabase managed storage, especially for applications with large numbers of uploads.

:framed_picture: Image Field Updates:

We’re updating the legacy Image upload field, originally introduced more than four years ago, to use Amazon S3 instead of Cloudinary for new uploads.

This is a non breaking change that requires no action on your part. All existing images will continue to work as expected, while new uploads will benefit from our standardized S3 storage infrastructure.

:bar_chart: Data & Activity Updates:

We’ve added a couple of enhancements to make working with records and data tables even more flexible.

  • :spiral_notepad: Row Summaries for Rollup & Equation Fields:
You can now add row summaries, including totals, averages, and more, to Rollup and numeric Equation fields in Data Tables.

  • :stopwatch: Accurate Last Opened Tracking:
The Last Opened timestamp now reflects when an app is actually opened, providing more accurate activity tracking.

:busts_in_silhouette: Workspaces & Permissions:

  • :eyes: View Members Permission:
A new View Members permission allows users to see who belongs to a workspace without granting permission to manage members.

  • :shield: Improved Member Security:
Workspace member managers can no longer modify their own role, app access, or credit limits, helping prevent accidental permission changes.

  • :open_book: Read Only Workspace Settings:
Members without permission to manage users can now view the workspace name and icon in read only mode. The workspace join link is now only visible to users with member management permissions.

:robot: Tada AI:

  • :brain: Smarter Settings Panel:
Component settings have been redesigned to surface the most important information first. You’ll now see the data source, view name, filter descriptions, and a streamlined Apply button for saving changes, while advanced developer options have been moved into a dedicated section.

  • :speech_balloon: More Control in Chat:
You can now copy messages, reply with quoted text, and undo changes made by a specific AI response. Reverted changes also appear in the Changes tab, making it easy to track everything that’s happened.

  • :horizontal_traffic_light: Build Status Updates:
Your browser tab now displays the current AI build status, so you can quickly see whether a build is running, complete, or needs your attention, even while working in another tab.

  • :pencil: Improved Record Editing
We’ve added several quality of life improvements to record editing, including automatic focus on the first field, clearer input highlights, keyboard shortcuts, and safeguards to help prevent accidental data loss.

:bug: Bug Fixes:

  • Improved record save error messages to display more descriptive information instead of a generic “table error occurred” message, making it easier to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Fixed an issue where customers with a scheduled subscription cancellation could have outgoing emails incorrectly blocked before their subscription expired.

For a complete list of fixes, see our release notes here.

:level_slider: We’ll fade this one out here, Tadabasers. Happy building and see you next week for another chart topper. :chart_increasing:
