This would be in my opinion a great facility to have, it seems the hardwork is already done as this filtering is available for the other formula functions in App variables. The use-case scenarios are endless but can be seen how much easier it would have been in a recent post ( Code for Notification Badge on new Layout Menu ).
I look forward to seeing if this is something that can be added quickly to complement the amazing new layouts.
@Ashley is correct. ‘Formula’ type app variable for ‘Count’ function doesnt currently allow the ability to add conditions. For example I am trying to count number of ‘open’ status actions for ‘logged in user’ and the only way I can achieve this is by adding calculation fields into table and then referencing those fields into a static app variable, this makes things more complicated then they need to be, hence why request from @Ashley is valid.
Please also include the ability to filter results for logged in user. Would be a bonus if we could also reference one app variable output result as input parameter for another app variable.
