I have the need to hide fields based on a connected field selection. Currently the connected field is not an option in the IF part of the display rule.
Thanks
Need to add a text formula field that pulls the connection field into it. Then you can create a display rule on the text formula field.
Hi Adam,
dont formula field calculated after the form is submitted?
Thanks
Yes. What exactly are you trying to do?
I have a form that when a user selects a vaule from a connected field, i need to show another field on the form otherwise hide the field. When I try to use a a display rule the connected field doesn’t show in the IF part of the display rule.
Thanks
Trying to help here but want to understand more. What you are trying to do should work easily. Can you confirm?
- You have a table (A) with a connection field to another table (B)
- You have a form for Table A …
- …In that form you want to show/hide a field based upon the selection in the connection field to Table B
- In the Form/Rules/Display Rules you cannot see the connection field to Table B?
If so this looks like a bug. But this works for me.
In the Form/Rules/Display Rules I cannot use the connection field to Table B to say if you select x from the table B selection then hide field A. I dont see table B connected field to add the condition.
Thats strange. Can you confirm that the connection if from Table A to Table B and not the other way around ?
Table A is Inspections with Table B being Areas Inspected. Form is to record inspections of different areas. Theres one field that is to upload a picture but it is only needed if they select work tables from the areas inspected.
Hi
Looking at this its unclear to me the hierarchy of tables, and you didn’t answer which way the connection is set.
This one of those fundamental questions, I suggest looking at this page (about half way down)
The direction if that connection will determine how you can make a working solution (and I am confident you can make a working solution).
