Continuing the discussion from Multi tenant Saas:
with weweb you can export an SPA and host it anywhere for dirt cheap. With a Supabase Backend your monthly cost for a full app is under 50 bucks… With a WAY more capable system better community and AI support hence its wider adoption.
I initially choose tadabase for similar reasons and it did help me start out but I’d never chose it again. Ever since Tim Young left support quality plummeted and publicly announced features are overdue by years now (other hosting areas e.g.) Once you start using Supabase and $-Frontend Builder you’ll never look back. IMO it’s just clumsy to build this way.
Fair enough
@andreas - thanks for the feedback. Would love to know what those features you’re saying are overdue for years. We’ve been pushing steady updates on a weekly basis.
Just to be straight about it: Tadabase isn’t officially built for multi-tenant SaaS. Sure, you could hack something together, but that’s not what we put our effort into. Our focus has always been helping businesses run operations with reliability, security, and compliance. That’s why we’ve been around for years and why Fortune 500 companies trust us.
If you’re running a business and think $50 a month is your budget for a dependable platform, you probably need to rework your business model. The most expensive mistake you can make is betting your operations on a “dirt cheap" hosting solution. The reality is, the customers we work with often want to pay more because they want the confidence that comes with proper infrastructure, things like backups, versioning, penetration testing, and multi-regional failover and so much more.
As far as Tim, we miss Tim very much as a full fledged member of the Tadabase team - he is one in a billion. It’s a free country and I couldn’t chain him to Tadabase, however, he’s still actively helping some of our Enterprise clients with buildouts on Tadabase but as his own entity. Interesting tidbit - nearly every Tadabase support person that left started their own agency to help our customers - which is very awesome!
Anyways, always great to hear your feedback. Thanks for that.
