It would be great to have the option to select initial and end times instead of having to create a DateTime Range field in the database. Because some times the data is modeled with 2 fields or with a start date and a duration.

I totally second this suggestion, it would be great if the calendar had this option as well. Maybe a choice to use the date range or two date fields for start and end would be a good way to do it.

I’ve always found the date range field annoying and I think this is a great idea. We’re going to investigate this and will very likely implement this very soon. Can’t promise yet though.

Totally agree, great if Calendar Events had Start and End Date / Times so it was easier to import Google Calendar Appointment for example. (UPDATE: Actually I noticed the Google API for the calendar will export date ranges as separate days if you pass it the “Single Events” parameter. )
