Subtask Support: Checklist Items in Rich Text Field

We use a data table as a list of tasks and sometimes there are (1) instructions for completing a task, or (2) subtasks that don’t deserve their own record, but are still important to display.

Would it be possible to add checklist item support to the Rich Text field?

Ideal Scenario:

  1. Add markdown support to Rich Text fields
  2. Allow users to hide the formatting menu bar
  3. Support for markdown checklist items as []
  4. Support italic & strike through for completed items
