Tuesdays with Tadabase - June 9th 2026

:woman_biking: :man_climbing:The summer adventure is just getting started, and our team is already picking up speed. Let’s see where this week’s update takes us!

:toolbox: Our engineers have:

:bust_in_silhouette: Logged In User Defaults:

To reduce the need for additional rules and automations, you can soon set any fields that are a connection to the Users table to default to the logged in user.

This makes it easier to:

  • Automatically assign ownership of records
  • Track who created or updated a record
  • Connect records to the current user without requiring extra Record Rules or Workflows

The result is simpler configuration, fewer moving parts, and cleaner app setup.

:link: Connected Record Import and Export Enhancements:

We’ve added new capabilities to make working with connected records even easier during both imports and exports.

:inbox_tray: Import Directly to Connected Records
You can now import data directly into connected records, allowing relationships to be created as part of the import process rather than requiring additional setup afterward.

:outbox_tray: Export Only Connected Records
You can also export only the records connected to a specific parent record or relationship, making exports more targeted and reducing the need for post export filtering.

These enhancements are especially useful when you’re on a Company detail page and want to export only the records that belong to that specific Company. In the past, this was only possible through app side exports. For larger datasets, those exports could time out because the processing was happening in the browser.

By moving this functionality to the backend, exports are now more reliable, scalable, and capable of handling much larger datasets.

Together, these updates make managing relational data faster, cleaner, and more efficient.

:bug: Bug Fixes:

  • Added tracking support for total email layouts.
  • Fixed an issue in the Batch Update modal that could cause a selected items error.
  • Improved status polling for Batch Update and Batch Delete actions.
  • Excluded default email templates from email template limit calculations.
  • Added support for using Enter to create new lines in Long Text fields while preserving table formatting.
  • Fixed secure file download functionality in Universal Table Components.

For a complete list of fixes, see our release notes.

:motorway: And with that, we’ve reached the end of this leg of the journey, Tadabasers. Happy building and see you next week! :compass:
