Spooky season has commenced and this update will surely haunt you. Let’s check out what tricks our team has up their sleeves this week: 
We’re still focused on exciting updates and security changes to the platform. As you’ve likely seen in the past few editions of TWT, we’re making some big changes around the platform to double down on security and compliance.
These security updates are quite technical but we’re very excited about continuously hardening our platform to ensure it’s the most powerful and secure platform you can depend on.
Here’s what’s new from our engineers:
Pipescripts Updates
To ensure Pipescripts (TB.TriggerPipe in Javascript) has some additional layers of security, we’re adding the following features (to be released within a few days):
- You can now add permissions to pipes that are triggered via JS so they only run based on who’s logged in or any other conditions in the Users table.
- You can also define Parameters based on logged in user that are required and will set some parameters depending on who triggered the pipe. For example, setting the Logged In Users record ID without having to pass that value in the JavaScript.
Security File Updates
- When working with files, you’ll be able to restrict file downloads to:
- A field in the table that connects to the user. For example, in a jobs table if there is an attachments field, you can limit it to only be downloadable to a value of a field that connects to the logged in user.
- Only users in specific roles
- Users who belong to the same connection as the junction table. For example, download files from a task that belong to the same company that you belong to.
Right to left layout options:
We’ve also added some Right-to-Left updates to some layouts for those who need layouts for Hebrew and Arabic speaking countries.
At this time, these are available on the following layouts:
- Classy
- Compact
- Corporate
Behind the Scenes:
We’re running behind on several important items we promised to have ready soon, but rest assured they are all still in progress. We’ve had to put significantly more resources towards our security updates than we initially anticipated.
- Equation updates are still in progress
- Sandbox/Staging is now in version 1 and almost ready to be utilized by beta testers
- New data centers are mostly online but need some additional optimization to get the speeds optimized.
