Workflow Updates:
This week brings a major upgrade to Workflows, with dramatically faster large-scale runs, smarter retries, more accurate run reporting, and major improvements to Email Catcher and Incoming Webhooks.
Faster Workflows at Scale:
Large Workflow runs are now significantly faster and lighter on the builder. In testing, a 20,000-record loop dropped from nearly 18 minutes to 76 seconds, with major performance improvements to Run History and live activity logs as well.
Smarter Run Results & Retries:
Runs can now finish as Completed with Warnings or Completed with Errors, giving you a clearer picture of what actually happened. You can also retry Webhook and Email runs, or use Retry Failed to rerun only the records that failed.
Major Email Catcher Updates:
Every app can now have its own inbox subdomain, and incoming attachments can be reused directly in Send Email actions. We’ve also increased email size limits, added custom blocked file types, and introduced safeguards to prevent email-triggered Workflow loops.
More Powerful Incoming Webhooks:
Incoming Webhooks now support Idempotency Keys to prevent duplicate runs, nested conditions with OR / Any logic, stronger IP and rate-limit protection, and improved handling of incoming requests.
Workflow Builder Improvements:
The builder now protects against unsaved changes, improves Conditional Value and condition handling, makes Run History easier to navigate and search, and adds more options for working with files and attachments.
Records, Data Tables & Forms:
{ } New JSON Field:
A new JSON field lets you store and work with structured JSON data directly in Tadabase. JSON fields are supported across forms, tables, imports, exports, APIs, Workflows, emails, and more, including the ability to map an entire webhook payload directly into a field.
Selective App Copy:
More Control When Copying Apps:
Selective App Copy gives you more control over exactly what gets carried into a copied app. When you exclude something, Tadabase now automatically adjusts related fields, conditions, Workflows, PDFs, and app variables to avoid leaving broken references behind.
Safer, More Reliable Copies:
Copies moved to another account automatically remove sensitive credentials like Pipes, SSO, and SMTP settings. Copy progress and errors are also clearer, failed copies can be resumed without starting over, and the Copy Report shows anything that was adjusted based on your selections.
Around the Builder:
More Accurate Storage Usage:
Deleted files no longer count toward your storage usage, including files in the Asset Manager trash. Deleted PDF forms also no longer count toward your form limit.
Scheduled Task Improvements:
Scheduled Tasks now load significantly faster on apps with frequent schedules. Task History also shows the next queued run and flags overdue tasks, making stalled schedules easier to spot.
More Connected Fields:
Connected record fields are now easier to find and use in the field picker, grouped and labeled by their connection.
Filter Tabs & Custom Components:
Filter Tabs now apply to summaries within Custom Components.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed streamed Workflow loops failing when connections were interrupted, along with incorrect totals and inconsistent history on large or continued runs.
- Fixed Send Email runs displaying inaccurate sender, delivery, or failure information.
- Fixed canceling a Workflow run potentially overwriting a run that had already completed.
- Fixed Incoming Webhook status URLs incorrectly using a localhost address and non-POST requests returning HTML instead of JSON.
- Fixed text values with leading zeros, such as ZIP codes, being converted to numbers when saved.
- Fixed is changed from conditions incorrectly comparing certain numbers, text values, and zero.
- Fixed Loop conditions not preserving or displaying their saved values.
- Fixed incorrect dates and times in Workflow Run History and action logs.
- Fixed the SSO Form tab not being editable in the builder for SSO-only apps.
- Fixed Formula fields based only on system fields not calculating when records were created through Record Rules.
- Fixed several Connected Field issues, including stale values, connected data being incorrectly cached across users, and certain connected system fields causing Lists to fail.
- Fixed Pivot Views saved through the Views API not preserving Dynamic Pagination, Max Columns, or Previous/Next settings.
- Fixed connected field dropdowns not working correctly in V1 Search Forms.
- Fixed the Scheduled Tasks page losing its Type, Schedule, and Next Run columns.
