Form field data is not save when field text is updated with javascript

Help needed:
I am new to Tadabase.
I am updating the value of a form field through javascript, but when I save the form, the field value is not saved.
When I manually enter any value in the text box and click on save button, then it gets saved.
I would really appreciate if anybody has a solution.
